Terms of Service
Effective date: 6 June 2026
These terms govern your use of SailBoard (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please don’t use the Service.
What SailBoard is
SailBoard is a tool for creating, animating, and sharing sailing scenarios, including protest and defense diagrams and an optional AI rules analysis. It is an educational and coaching aid. It is not a substitute for the Racing Rules of Sailing, a protest committee, a jury, or any official ruling, and nothing it produces is a decision or legal advice.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you sign up, and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service unlawfully or to upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its data;
- misuse share links or other people’s content.
Your content
You keep ownership of the scenarios, protests, and other content you create. You grant us the permission needed to store, process, and display that content in order to provide the Service — including making a protest viewable to anyone with its share link when you choose to share it.
AI analysis
The AI rules analysis is provided for discussion only and may be incomplete or wrong. It does not establish facts, assign penalties, or replace the protest committee. You are responsible for any decisions you make, and you should always verify against the rules and the relevant authority.
Availability and changes
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SailBoard and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including reliance on any AI analysis or shared diagram.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
