Start-line bias — boat (committee) end favoured

When the committee end is upwind, the boat starting there reaches the mark first.

The committee (boat) end sits upwind of the pin, so it's the favoured end. The green boat off the committee end has less distance to the windward mark and lays it first; the red (pin) boat rounds about 1.3 seconds — some four boat lengths — later. It's the mirror of the pin-favoured case — toggle the Start-line bias arrow to confirm which end is favoured, then drag a mark or turn the wind and watch the favoured end flip.
